Orvis is well known in the fly fishing world but one thing people might not realize is just how much they do in terms of conservation and restoration of fisheries and spawning habitat. For example, Orvis and Trout Unlimited created the 1000 Mile Campaign, which seeks to reconnect 1000 miles of coldwater spawning habitat for trout, salmon and steelhead.

In an effort to assist in this conservation, PROBAR and Orvis have collaborated to create the 1000 Mile Meal Bar. This Almond Crunch Meal Bar will be sold exclusively through Orvis.com and Orvis retail stores, with $1 from each bar sold donated to the 1000 Mile Campaign.

$1 from each bar may not sound like a lot, but it’s roughly 33% of the retail cost, which is a fairly substantial donation. Meal bars come in waterproof packaging to ensure your lunch is safe when things get wet. They are non-GMO Project Verified, dairy-free and plant-based, providing a good source of protein, fiber and omega-3s.

Next time you’re headed out for a day on the river, be sure to bring along some 1000 Mile Meal Bars and know that not only are you having a great tasting lunch, but you’re also helping a good cause.
