Russian PROBAR’s and Running

This story comes to us from Xenia Sibova who is both a runner and a PROBAR fan! Thanks for your story Xenia.
I have been a runner my whole life, and for the last four years I have been a vegetarian. This past summer I made the switch to a vegan diet and noticed that it has become more difficult to keep myself full in between meals. This when I remembered my mother’s dried fruit, nut and seed bars that she used to make for me to add a bit more protein and nutrition during the cold winter months when we lived in Russia. She used an old meat-grinder to blend the ingredients together and then rolled them into balls which she wrapped in tin-foil.

Half way into making the second batch of mom’s bars, I realized that I was cutting into the little free time that I have, but the bars had an amazing addictive quality. I guess it’s because my body gets used to having all the nutrition that it needs.

So I tried almost every kind of bar at my local Whole Foods. Some are were too paste-like, others tasted like power bars, yuck, still others contain ingredients I have never heard of and left me feeling heavy and thirsty.

Pro-bar was a real find for me! Not only did the bars taste very close to my mother’s, they were perfect for my diet and training, and were so convenient! They were also beautiful, I like to look at what I am eating and recognize the ingredients.

I eat a bar every day, and make sure I am stocked with all my favorite flavors. I bring one to work as a snack and have another one after training in the evening.

Thank you for making such nutritious and delicious product.
