Since I started the first vegetarian restaurant in Utah in the early 1970’s, I have tried to stay aware of what’s new and inticing for vital eating. Though I haven’t been strict since becomimg pregnant with my second child (after 13 years veg. and one pregnancy), I’ve tried to be at least aware and compassionate in my eating.

When My son brought around Probars, I was enchanted both at the gloriously beautiful wrappers and with the wonderfully diverse tastes, textures and mixtures they contain.

When I leave for trips, my son slips a few into my bag to assure that I have some hearty alternatives to traveling food, and to delight me as well with their mysteries–Is that fig, date, which nut, grain, in THIS one, etc.?
