As I prepare to head to California for the Natural Foods Expo West Show, I can relate to new customer Brandon Brito who aside from falling in love with Nutty Banana Boom found PROBAR to be a great travel companion, particularly in airports.  It’s hard to get excited about the measly serving of peanuts that they offer on the plane and the less than healthy options in the airports.

Don’t you think a Whole Foods deli would be out of this world popular within airports?

Anyway, we’re glad that Brandon found PROBAR and wanted to share the story he submitted a few weeks back.

I work as an executive at a NY based film production company, and first stumbled upon PROBAR’s Nutty Banana Boom bar about 8 months ago while waiting in line for the checkout at our local health food store. Being a fan of both bananas and chocolate — and always looking for a convenient meal-to-go. I’m not a Vegan, but am always looking for healthy snacks, so I picked it up more or less on a whim and was incredibly surprised at how great it tasted.

To be honest, I’ve always thought the taste of most “meal replacement”bars was always disproportionate to their health benefits, or full of artificial fillers and flavors - but your Nutty Banana Boom bar tasted so good I felt a tinge guilty and actually reread the ingredients to see if I’d missed something artificial somewhere. Sure enough, it was still healthy and still ALL NATURAL.

Since then, I’ve started to notice PROBARs in more and more store including our neighborhood deli, and can’t help but pick up one or two (or three) for the road. My job requires me to travel a lot, and as you know, airport food is rarely forgiving to the health conscious. So I take a PROBAR or two in my carry-on bag will usually tide me over - even on a long flight - and I usually pick up a few more once I land. They’re even great after a long run, bike ride or as an afternoon snack with coffee.

Since discovering PROBAR, I’ve had a chance to taste them all - including Art’s Original Blend - though NBB is still my favorite. My wife thinks I’m a little “nutty”, but she’ll come around eventually.
