Boy, You Look Famished
A lot of stories about PROBAR begin with Art and this one is no different.
My story begins with Art.
I was wandering the allys of Coffee Fest Seattle over caffeinated and under nourished. Hunger pains began as did my worry. Then my eyes fell upon Art, and he was holding something dark and undiscernable out to me. Art yells, “Boy you look famished, come over here and help yourself to whatever you need!“
And I did.
Quickly I regained strength and vigor, Art and I began to talk. Art tells me from behind his protective plastic sani-shield that he used to be a nutrition lobbyist. And that what I just ate was not some sissy bar. REAL CARBS, REAL FATS, AND REAL PROTEIN! RAW, VEGAN, ORGANIC. All the necessary words to win over a health conscious consumer. We talked some more, shook hands, and I left.
Where is this going…
Right here! I am a big-time bicyclist on a little time budget. My goal was 100 miles of hilly terrain in less than 10 hours. How to do it fast, and how to do it cheap were my two primary concerns.
I brought, bread & Hummus, Cheese, Odwalla bars (2), PROBAR (1), apples & nuts & cranberry’s, bananas, and water.
I was exerting a lot of energy that day. I took a break every hour for food and nourishment. The food was not all good! TheOdwalla bars were a joke. Bread & hummus gave me gas and no energy. Bananas bruised. Apples and nut mix was a very good item but I ate too much. And the PROBARr was outstanding. The perfect size and POWER PACKED WITH NUTRITION. The PROBAR was the MOST potent food item i brought with me! Without a question, when i go on a journey Pro Bar goes with me.
Next trip… 2,500 miles Baby. Washington to Colorado to California!
Thanks Art,
Kevan

I have never liked organic food ..it all just seemd like over priced food that just had the dirt left on it ..until I tried the Pro Bars…..I actaully tried on a whim at the health food store the Nutty Banana Boom. OH my Goodness if this is what organic means WOW. I have tried all of these except the superfoods one and the goji one but the rest of them superb….i am glad that my whim lead to such a great enlightenment
thanks

Kevan - right on! Glad the bars helped power your ride. A couple of us are pretty avid cyclists at PROBAR and we do a 200 mile 1 day ride/race called LOTOJA (Logan, UT to Jackson Hole, WY) and we eat the bars all day long on that ride!
You should sign up for it!

@Nina - well I’m glad to see that our bars are better than “over priced food that just had the dirt left on it”. That comment made me laugh. But, that does make me wonder, why is that such a common impression of meal replacement or energy bars?
Drop your story in the “Your PROBAR Story” inbox (click the link in the lower right) and we’ll see about getting it here on the blog and getting you some bars as thanks.
