When Cat Crisologo wrote to us about how PROBAR helps her feel connected to her husband through tragic times, I felt like this was an inspiring story that we needed to share. I’m sure I’ll think of this the next time I open a Nutty Banana Boom. Thank-you for sharing Cat!

My beloved husband introduced me to PROBAR. Austin was an accomplished athlete, and he used to bring Clif Bars with him to his events, but then he tried Probars and became hooked. He insisted I try them, as I was always trying Powerbars and getting disappointed. Either they were too squishy, too dry, too sweet, not sweet enough, had a strange after taste…the list goes on. But when Austin handed me his favorite, Nutty Banana Boom, I tried it and I instantly became hooked, just like him.

I experimented with flavors, and I love the Nutty Banana Boom, but I have to say that nothing satisfies my chocolate cravings like Koka Moka. In fact, now when I have the urge for chocolate, I reach for a Koka Moka and feel much better about myself for having made the healthier choice. The consistency is moist without being squishy, is just the right balance of sweetness, and has just the right amount of dark chocolate chips. No other power bar comes close in comparison.

The love of my life passed away tragically on Valentine’s Day of 2009, just a few weeks ago, while training for an athletic event. He was only 42. Whenever I eat a PROBAR now, I remember how much he loved them, and particularly when I eat his favorite Nutty Banana Boom, I tell him, “This one’s for you, my love.” Somehow, I feel like he’s here, enjoying it through me. I know that’s a lot to say about a protein bar, but it’s just one of the many ways I stay connected to the man who was my life.
