Questions To Ask Before Biking Cross-Country
Some of the most frequently questions asked by people contemplating a cross- country bike tour would have to include, “What kind of bike should I ride?” “What are panniers?” and “What can I eat that is lightweight and will give me enough energy to keep going?” Dave Commins found the answer to the last question while riding through Utah.
I found PROBAR in Park City, UT in 2006 while passing through on a cross-country bike tour. I’d hitherto been restricted to CLIF BAR and was enthralled with the amount of energy I got from one PROBAR. They’re the perfect travel food. I fell in love and stuffed my panniers with as many as they’d hold before moving on.
Soon after getting home, I found they were being stocked at Earth Fare in Athens, GA. Now I make a point of picking up a box before any long bike rides. I end up spending less money than if I were to stop for food along the way, and I feel great the whole time too. Two cloves of garlic, a knob of ginger root, a line of cayenne, and a PROBAR is all the breakfast I’ll ever need, regardless of the hills between me and lunch.
Each customer whose “Your PROBAR Story” is published here on the blog will receive a Seventh Heaven Pack which is one PROBAR of each of the original flavors. We love to hear from our customers about their PROBAR story so if you’ve got one share it with us.
