Fresh New PROBAR Style – Plus New Products Too!

comment icon 18

We’ve been busy in the kitchen here at PROBAR and even busier at the design shop. Check it out, we’ve got some shiny new kicks and we’re ready to share them with you.

Does orange make you hungry? We think it might. Check out the bold orange on our original PROBAR Meal. Don’t worry, we didn’t mess with any of your favorite recipes.  We’ve kept the same high quality ingredients, its still certified organic by QAI, and blended not baked. We mean it when we call it a meal.  This PROBAR weighs in at a solid three ounces of fruits, nuts, and seeds with enough nutrition to make a fresh, tasty, satisfying meal replacement.  It’s rich in raw ingredients and the right nutrient dense calories for lasting energy and nourishment.  We’ve also added 4 new tasty flavors: Superberry & Greens, Chocolate Coconut, Oatmeal Raisin and Mint Chocolate.

We’re very excited to bring to you arguably the best tasting protein bar on the market, PROBAR CORE. This is the PROBAR for lean muscle & strong recovery.  Are you looking for a protein bar that resembles nature rather than a science experiment?  Good.  Because we packed 20 grams of plant protein and plenty of real, recognizable ingredients into this bar.  And it does more than build your strength - it boasts chia and flax seeds for hydration and recovery too.

Fuel is a gluten-free and easy to digest bar; balanced with chia seeds to regulate hydration.  It’s soft, chewy, and it’s a full serving of fruit - a scrumptious snack for action packed days.

Sure, treats taste good - but most aren’t so good for you.  So we made this sweet treat without hydrogenated junk.  Instead we packed in heavenly, good-for-you, vegan stuff made from the finest ingredients around.  Now you can satisfy your craving, no guilt needed.

Really disappointed to see that you dropped a few of my favorite flavors, Old School PB&J, Cran-Lemon Twister, Nutty Banana Boom, Fruition Lemon and Fruition Chocolate Orange.

I am on the reoccurring delivery program but definitely need to reconsider now…

Please give us back the old packaging. The images of real foods, such as berries all over the outside, are what made my friends and me pick up Pro Bars and try them. Of course, we are hooked when we eat one.
And psych classes say that red is the color that catches primates’ eyes, seeking food, not orange. Your in-house discussions may be useful in some ways, but you will lose lots of us who seek the familiar food-images in the stores. Old packages return, PLEASE!

    Hi,
I LOVE ProBars! I have really loved every flavor (except Kettle Corn, which I still liked but it wasn’t my favorite). I think what sets them apart is their delicious taste, the fact that they ACTUALLY fill you up and keep you full, and their stand-out packaging. I think your marketing is genius. What I have loved most about the packaging is that it really sells the bar. You get the ideas FRESH, FILLING, and NUTRITION-PACKED from all the ingredients you can see which are in the picture. I wanted to give you my impression on the new packaging as an avid ProBar consumer and seller (I work at an outdoor store and get to watch ProBars fly off the shelves).
I am excited to see some new flavors, and am excited to try the new Core line. I have a few reservations about the packaging, however. From what I have seen from so many other nutrition, protein, or meal bars, the packaging is mainly monochromatic and, frankly, boring. You get an overload of their brand name, but don’t get excited about what you’re about to eat. With the ProBar original packaging, the customer gets to see so many of the ingredients that they are already excited to try it (no reading of extensive ingredient list required). The supplement retailer Vitamin Shoppe is a great example of how ProBar stands out from the competition: it is one of two or three brands which stands out from the “regulars” like Powerbar or Zone bar or your next mega-nutrition supplement company. I feel like the new packaging, with dominant color block, simply looks more like one of the “other” run-of-the-mill bars.
That being said, it’s great that you kept a window of sorts that has many of the ingredients illustrated. As long as you keep the recipe, they will sell. And in general, the new packaging looks good. Since I love ProBar so much, however, I wanted to express my opinion that the new packaging is not as distinctive.

Thanks for making the best meal/snack/energy bar on the market!

    Best Wishes,

    David Hinckley

Do you still have Apple Cinnamon probar or is it discontinued or on back order?

When will coconut and oatmeal raisin probars be available? I saw that they are out of stock.

  5. tcwatergirl says:

Excited to see the new mint and coconut flavors, but I am VERY SAD to see the Cherry Pretzel Savory go. It was my favorite and I was visiting your site to order another dozen. I am excited by the 20% protein derived from plants. I have found many of your fruit flavors overly sweet. I am telling all my friends about your products but everyone judges a bar by it’s protein content these days, it seems! Thanks again for putting out a superior product.

I love these bars and the packaging on the PROBAR meal bars is eye-catching and colorful in a good way!

  8. David Roeske says:

Yes you DID mess with the recipes!!! The Koka Mokas have a couple more grams of sugar in them now. They taste different too. Less like food and more like they’re coated in syrup. I’ve been buying on subscription a case of these a month since September of 2010, and I will quit–to my great sadness–if you don’t restore the original recipe with lower sugar content.
    Sincerely,
    David Roeske

Hey David! So we didn’t mess with the recipe although it may look like that. When we updated the packaging we updated our nutritionals as well. We source our products from different farmers and different crops/farms. Each round of crops varies from the next so it was a slight change in many of our ingredients that caused the sugar to go up slightly. Next update, it could go down. We are still using the same amount of ingredients just the ingredients themselves from the farmers vary. Does that clear up your question?

  12. kperkins says:

    Thank you!

  13. kperkins says:

Hayley, Apple Cinnamon is discontinued but our Chocolate Coconut and Oatmeal Raisin should be available now!

  14. kperkins says:

    Hi David,

Thank you for your feedback and for your support of PROBAR. We appreciate honest feedback and we will consider it.

    Thanks!

  15. kperkins says:

    Daniel,

Have you tried our new flavors? Oatmeal Raisin, Mint Chocolate, Chocolate Coconut, or Superberry & Greens?

  16. Lori Alcorn says:

Im really interested in your PROBAR CORE it not only sounds really good but would help me with my work out routine and the hunger I get after doing it

  17. Wendy Mastin says:

Orange: Yes, my favorite color. It would definitely make my eyes go right to your Protein Bars.

  18. Jim S says:

I use Pro Bar as my primary energy source when doing quick 6 hour mountain hikes (4,000 foot vertical) twice a month near my home. A piece of fruit or two and water plus the Pro Bars and i’m set. I’m with those who prefer the old packaging. The clerks at REI told me they like the old packaging better. Regardless of the packaging, I’ll be carrying Pro Bars with me when I see the sunrise on top of Mt Kilimanjaro on my forthcoming 70th birthday.
