This is an update from PROBAR® sponsored cyclist Christine Vardaros.
The cyclo-cross season officially kicked off – and well, I might add! I won my first race which is always a great way to start the season. My next cross race is this weekend, although the biggies start the following week with Kalmthout World Cup in Belgium which is one of my favorite courses due to its mountain-bike style terrain. The week after that it is off to Tabor for the second World Cup of the series.
On a less positive note, I am without a title sponsor for the season. Although this is extremely unfortunate as I will have to cut my racing schedule down a bit based on what I can afford, I refuse to let this get me down. If nothing comes through before the start of the season, my racing kit will be a plain black/blue skinsuit that i just ordered online. Hope it fits!
And on the writing side, there are a couple of my articles to be published soon that I am particularly excited about:
- Cyclocross Magazine – October 2008 Issue: Sven Nys Interview – You can find Cyclocross Magazine at select bike shops and book stores, or it can be ordered online.
- VegNews Magazine – Jan/Feb 2009 Issue: Make your New Year’s fitness Resolution a success; pick a sporting event and go! VegNews Magazine is at many bookstores and health food stores like Whole Foods, or you can order it online as well.
To keep more updated on my happenings, please read my blog at http://christinevardaros.blogspot.com . Or you can be my facebook friend – i periodically update my page there too.
I am writing this as the weather here in Belgium has turned sour. We are expecting rainstorm after rainstorm. While that may discourage some folks, it surely gets me in the cyclo-cross racing mood. Mud, mud, here I come.
That is all for now. Thanks for reading!
