Diane Van Deren is an American ultra-runner born in 1960 who was a former professional tennis player having left high school early to play on the women’s European pro tennis tour. She attended the University of Texas, Permian Basin graduating with a degree in speech communications. In 1997 she had a lobectomy to help eliminate epileptic seizures, which were also why she began running. Diane is a mother of three who was born in Omaha Nebraska but was raised in Littleton Colorado. She currently lives in Sedalia, Colorado. Diane has won multiple prestigious races including the Yukon Artic Ultra 430-mile run, the Yukon Arctic Ultra 300 mile as well as the Canadian Death Race 78 mile run. In addition to being a well known athlete she is also a motivational speaker who talks about her ability to overcome a debilitating illness to become a well known athlete.
