I started running again in 2006 after many sedentary years. Quite a few friends and family were training for marathons and they inspired me.  I moved from 5k fun runs to marathons in 2007 and then to trail ultras in 2009. I've been a full-on running junkie since then, along with becoming a student of alpine climbing. In 2011, I was fortunate to summit Everest and in 2012, I ran self-supported across the United States - averaging over 31 miles a day for 107 days. And this year I was able to help set an only known times running around the high altitude circuit trail on Kilimanjaro and also on Mt. Adams in Washington state.

When Not Adventuring

I am guiding people from all walks of life to the top of Kilimanjaro and Everest Basecamp. I also work as a clinical associate professor for the University of Washington conducting research on patient centered technologies and mountain communities.

Goals

I'm hoping to do some big runs and fastpacks this year in Nepal. Possibly the Annapurna and Manaslu circuits.
