So you think you’ve got what it takes to represent PROBAR as a sponsored athlete? Or perhaps you’re not an athlete but are seeking an individual sponsorship. Either way, here are a few things to keep in mind as you fill out the sponsorship form below.

As a growing company, most of our individual sponsorship budget is given as “in kind” product support rather than cash funds. Quite honestly, we think our product ranks right up there with cash. We hope you agree. We sponsor individuals on an annual basis as well as on a single pursuit basis, like an expedition or a through hike of the Great Western Trail for example.

We look at our sponsorships as bringing another person into the PROBAR family and expect that before you even approach us that you’ve already got great passion for our product.

So that you know how we consider individual sponsorships, here are some things we look for.

• We expect that aside from being an athlete that you are a self promoter. Having a website, blog, MySpace or Facebook profile is just a start and if you have one or all of these they should be updated at least weekly.
• We expect you to keep us updated on what’s going on in your world. This will be done through regular contributions to our community by posting on our blog. Not a blogger? Don’t worry, we’ll train you.
• Creating visibility with the people that we sponsor, particularly online, goes both ways. We’ll blog about you and post about you on our site. We expect the same in return. This may take shape via text links, logos on websites, stickers on your car/gear/bike/, etc.
• We look for a sponsorship to be impactful and lasting. We feel like those we sponsor will be part of the family. So what if you’re the most amazing trail runner to ever put on running shoes! Do you play nice with others? Are people excited to be around you? Do you leave the ego at home? Do you return e-mails and phone calls? This stuff matters to us.
