Emma Garrard is a PROBAR athlete who lives in Park City, UT. In college she competed in three NCAA Division I sports and it wasn’t until she finished school that she began racing triathlons simply to stay in shape. Just a few years later she earned her professional status and now races competitively all around the world. Emma recently won the XTERRA England event and sent in a little race report below:
“After a lot of 2nd place finishes this year I am pleased to let you know that I won XTERRA England, in Cranleigh, Surrey on Sunday posting the fastest run time (3rd overall) and 2nd fastest bike time. What made it even more special was the fact I had a lot of family out watching the event, 4 generations in fact (Most of whom live in nearby West Sussex.)”
“It was a great venue and course; a lake swim followed by 2 loops of a twisty bike course with bridges and lots of dips. The course came in and out of the athlete village so it was great for spectators. Weather could not have been better either, especially after a muddy race in Germany. The run was 2 loops with lots of natural obstacles, a big ditch to cross along with lots of other logs and muddy bogs but also some fast grass sections.”
“Thanks again for your support. I’m back in Park City now and will get a mini training block in before XTERRA USA Champs Sept 20th in Ogden Utah. With some luck my 2nd place streak with be followed by a 1st place streak.”
