The Beginning: Tough Mudder

If you were to come into our PROBAR® office the first thing you would notice are pictures hanging on all the walls of people being active.  From rock climbing to gardening, there are pictures of that and everything in-between.  What you might not know is that these pictures are all of our PROBAR® employees!

We pride ourselves in encouraging employees to maintain healthy active lifestyles and do everything we can to help support those activities.  Because of this we are always looking for a challenge and a way to push ourselves just a little bit more.  That’s when the Tough Mudder comes into play.  Our President, Jules was searching online for an event to do when he came across the Tough Mudder.  He looked into it more and decided it was something he wanted to do.  He came back to work the next day, mentioned it to our CEO Jeff, and from there the excitement spread like wildfire.  By the end of the first day we had almost 25% of our office signed up for the event!  And now, we have close to 50%!  Team PROBAR® was assembled.

This brings us to today; June 21st, and 113 days away from the Tough Mudder.  Now, what’s the Tough Mudder you ask? According to their website it is a “hardcore 10-12 mile obstacle course designed by British Special Forces to test your all around strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie.”  If you haven’t heard of it, head on over to their website and check out their video.  After that come back here and let us know how crazy you think we are!

To take on this challenge we have committed ourselves to get in shape and as prepared as we can be for the event.  We have partnered with a local CrossFit gym and are two weeks into our 18 week program.  Although there have been a lot of sore muscles around the PROBAR® office, there have also been a lot of smiles too!

Check back for our weekly updates on how our training is going!
