I’ll admit it, I wasn’t aware there is a day to celebrate the Vegetarian lifestyle. But surprisingly (to only myself of course) there is and it’s coming up this weekend.

If you find yourself in San Francisco the 8th annual World Veg Festival featuring International Vegan Food, Outstanding Speakers, Healthy Cooking Demos, Eco Fashion Show, Children’s Corner, and Live World Entertainment, will be presented in the Golden Gate Park.

The event will run from 10am to 6pm both Saturday and Sunday the 29th and 30th of September. They’re asking for a $5 donation per person but if you are there by 10:30 the early bird special is *FREE*. You can thank me later.

What the press release failed to mention was that Art Eggertsen, the founder of PROBAR® will be speaking at the event as wingman to professional cycling athlete and PROBAR® fan Christine Vardaros.  Christine, who aside from living a fantastic lifestyle of racing bikes in Europe and living part time in Marin, California, also maintains a pretty cool blog that you should check out.

And yes, she will be cleaned up (perhaps making a gross assumption here ;-)) unlike the picture of her above which was following a cycle-cross bike race (and taken from her website so please check it out so I won’t get in more trouble than I likely already am).
