Christina Lee is not one to shy away from a challenge. In fact, she welcomes it. Point in case: she is running from New York City to San Francisco. Solo. Self-supported. In the hottest months of the year, into the westerly winds and up and over every mountain pass in her way. Christina chose these hardships to align her challenge with the difficulties faced by her many Navy SEAL friends, both in the battlefield and when returning home.

Christina is running 3100 miles while pushing her baby-jogger named Thor, which holds her daily (or weekly) supplies along with the American flag and original trident of a Navy SEAL. As if the physical challenge weren’t enough, Christina has set a lofty fundraising goal. By the end of her journey she hopes to raise $100,000 for the Navy SEAL Foundation.

We received word of Christina’s endeavor as she was approaching Utah, and we aligned with local Jorge Garcia. Acting as impromptu support crew, Jorge rounded up some donations from local Utah companies. PROBARĀ® donated some Meal and bite bars, along with BOLT energy chews for her run. Hopefully this will let her skip the cheap gas station food and fuel her journey with nutritious, organic and nutrient-dense foods. So far, the Coconut Almond bite bars are her favorite.

Christina is hoping to arrive in San Francisco by early December and will be greeted by the San Francisco 49ers, her favorite football team. The 49ers have agreed to produce a 30-minute documentary film about Lee’s epic run, with proceeds benefiting the Navy SEAL Foundation.
