A Portion of the Sales Will Be Donated to Help Reconnect 1000 Miles of Streams
Salt Lake City, UT (May 6, 2015) – PROBAR®, creator of delicious, convenient, healthy, plant-based food products, is thrilled to announce an innovative partnership with The Orvis Company and Trout Unlimited. PROBAR and Orvis chose the popular Almond Crunch Meal Bar as the 1000 Mile Meal Bar, and one dollar per bar will be donated to the Orvis/Trout Unlimited 1,000-Mile Campaign.
The Orvis/Trout Unlimited 1,000-Mile Campaign seeks to reconnect 1,000 miles of vitally important coldwater tributaries to larger rivers by replacing impassable culverts with modern, fish-friendly designs. Proceeds from the 1000 Mile Meal Bar will help trout, salmon and steelhead access spawning grounds and coldwater refuges.
Tom Rosenbauer, Marketing Manager at Orvis Rod & Tackle, said he was already a fan of PROBAR products because they are real, wholesome food that adheres to strict standards around non-GMO and sustainable ingredients.
“Plus they taste better than any other energy bar, so I can fish all day long with a few in my pack and be totally happy,” Rosenbauer said. “When PROBAR and I got to talking about how we could work together we hatched this plan to make a special bar that would help benefit the 1,000 Mile project.”
“We are excited to be working with Orvis on this unique and impactful program,” said PROBAR Marketing Director Jason Lambert. “PROBAR Meal® bars are delicious, nutrient-dense, and served in waterproof packaging. The PROBAR/Orvis 1000 Mile Meal Bar is perfect for a day on the water and will leave anglers feeling satisfied, both from the fantastic taste and in knowing they’re helping a good cause.”
The PROBAR Almond Crunch 1,000 Mile Meal Bars are available exclusively through Orvis, including their website and at Orvis retail stores and authorized dealers throughout trout and steelhead country. Pick up a box to keep yourself fueled for a long day of fishing and know you’re helping to restore fisheries all around the country.
